Get Glowing Skin with Proven Tips from an Esthetician

Glowing, healthy skin- exactly what everyone wants. But how do you achieve this? The skin care industry is oversaturated with advice, recommendations, and so-called secrets that can be hard to navigate. My goal with Mad Beauty is to always give straightforward, clear guidelines for your skin health. So let's get to it!

Establish a skincare routine.

You should create a skincare routine specifically for your skin type and goals for your skin. You don't need a five-step routine for the morning and then a different five-step routine for nighttime. Instead, think simple, and I recommend 3 to 4 steps. For your morning routine, you want to cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect. Then, you want to cleanse, tone, serum, and moisturize for your night routine. When choosing products, select products for your skin type and concerns. Also, a pro tip is finding products with extra benefits to get the most out of each step.

Exfoliate weekly

Once to twice a week, you need to use an exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells that have not naturally fallen off. Exfoliating is important because our natural process of shedding dead skin cells slows down as we age. By exfoliating, you remove the layer of dead skin cells, leaving fresh new skin cells. When choosing an exfoliator, you want to choose something for your skin type and condition. You can choose physical exfoliators that have a gritty feel or a chemical exfoliator that works by loosening the "glue" that holds the dead skin cells together.

Protect your skin from the sun.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again and again and again. I can't stop, and I won't stop. Wear sunscreen! The rays from the sun cause so much damage to your skin, including hyperpigmentation and aging. 80-90 percent of aging is caused by the sun rays damaging the skin. Add sunscreen to your routine every morning. If you are directly in the sun during the day, wear a hat or shade to prevent the rays from penetrating your skin.
